METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GASIFICATION OF COMBUSTION MATERIAL IN FLUIDIZED-BED FURNACE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: gasification of combustible materials, such as wastes, coal, etc. for production of combustible gas containing large amount of combustible materials sufficient for melting ash under action of their own heat. SUBSTANCE: fluidized-bed furnace 2 has form of approximately round horizontal cross section. Movable bed 9 where fluidized medium settles and gets sprayed is formed in central zone of furnace and fluidized bed 10 where fluidized medium is intensively fluidized is formed in peripheral zone of furnace. Fluidized medium turns in upper portion of movable bed 9 form upper portion of fluidized bed 10, circulating in both beds. Combustible material 11 is molten in upper portion of movable bed 9 and is gasified forming combustible gas during circulation together with fluidized medium. Amount of oxygen fed to fluidized-bed furnace 2 corresponds to amount of oxygen contained in air which is no more than 30% of theoretical amount of air required for combustion. Temperature of fluidized bed 10 is set between 450 and 650 C owing to which combustible gas contains considerable amount of combustible materials. Combustible gas and small particles formed in fluidized-bed furnace 2 are fed to furnace for burning the molten mass where they are burnt at high temperature at which ash gets molten.
