FIELD: organic chemistry, insecticides. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agents and methods of killing or population decrease of pasture ticks that are carriers of tick-borne encephalitis and tick borreliosis pathogens. Invention proposes the use of (C1-C4)-esters of monocarboxylic fatty acids containing 10-18 carbon atoms of the direct or branched chain taken separately or in the mixture with each other as attractants that attract taiga and forest ticks. Invention claims the mixed preparation and a method of control of ticks using these attractants. The use of proposed attractants decreases the dosage of acaricide added to the environment by 2-3 orders and does not show effect on fauna.
