FIELD: textile industry; winding devices. SUBSTANCE: textile machine has large number of working places arranged near each other in one row which include winder. Magazine for empty quills is arranged on one end of winder. Magazine is mated with conveyor for quills arranged along working place row of textile machine. Servicing device with manipulator for transfer of quill from conveyor into winder is installed for travel along this row. Prior to starting winding onto empty quill, the latter is set into winder by means of manipulator. If attempt is a failure, servicing device takes quill out of winder. Invention relates also to device implementing this method and quill stopping device. EFFECT: facilitated servicing of working places of textile machine. 11 cl, 10 dwg
