FIELD: veterinary science; prophylaxis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases of farm animals. SUBSTANCE: method includes introduction for young animals of treatment and prophylactic products possessing a complex of protective factors included in composition of initial products of vegetables: beet, carrot, cabbage, Jerusalem artichoke and produced during their fermentation with specially selected lactobacillus strain-product prepared from decoction of mixture of squeezed out vegetables: product prepared from mixture of squeezed out vegetables and product from mixture of nonsqueezed out vegetables. Products for feeding are selected depending on age and state of young animals health. EFFECT: provided gain in weight, absence of disturbances in gastrointestinal tract and loss of young animals. 4 cl, 2 tbl
