FIELD: prevention of development of local fire zones on vehicles and electric units due to short circuiting occurring due to current-conductive equipment insulation breakdown. SUBSTANCE: method involves supplying incombustible material to probable fire zone by applying it onto surface to be protected from fire. Incombustible material is polymeric binder-epoxy resin used in an amount of 51-66%, flammable inhibitor-antimony trioxide used in an amount of 4%, cooler-one of crystalline hydrates (ammonium, common alum or sodium acetate trihydrate) used in an amount of 30-45% by weight.
