FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: plant protective device is made in the form of safety guard adapted to be stretched above crops. Safety guard has carcass composed of longitudinal and transverse supporting members and at least one water-impermeable foldable curtain, which is held and displaced by means of movable carrier members arranged in parallel rows transverse to supporting cords. Curtain has framework formed from strips or ribbons and/or cords and may be drawn from folded position to stretched position and vice versa. Curtain is provided with part which defines channels, when curtain is in stretched position. Curtain is manufactured from water-impermeable multilayer material transmitting sun rays. Channels allow water to be discharged from curtain surface and, as a result, loading upon curtain and carcass to be reduced.
