MODULAR LIGHT-GLASS CASE FOR DOUBLE-ENDED LAMP Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: shielding cases for inert-gas filled double- ended lamps. SUBSTANCE: case used for holding and shielding double-ended neon lamp has supporting module, central module, and light-transmitting cover module. Each module has walls forming longitudinal ducts with open sides, supporting plate mounted in central module, lengthened double- ended lamp mounted on supporting plate and secured by means of clamps. Supporting and central modules as well as light- transmitting cover module are made of elastic-strain material such as plastic and are joined together by latching thereby ensuring overlapping of open sides of longitudinal ducts. End lids close ends of light-transmitting cover and those of central ducts to ensure shielding of lamp, transformer, and wiring against precipitation. Modular case may be manufactured of any desired length using extrusion molding technique. Any number of cases may be joined together to form unified modular lighting system of group of lighting fixtures supplied with power from common low-voltage source to afford internal, decorative, and general illumination of buildings, attraction sites, etc. EFFECT: simplified design, improved economic efficiency and shielding properties of case. 16 cl, 9 dwg
