FIELD: broaching of holes. SUBSTANCE: in the method of broaching of holes in straps 1 use is made of fixed cores 2 attached to upper pressure plate 5, holes are made by them in friction material by movement of the cores through middle and lower plates 10 and 3 respectively. Automatically accomplished are the free downward travel of upper plate 5, gripping of strap stack 4, upward broaching of holes in strap stack 4. Then, strap stack 4 is removed, strap stack 4 is conveyed and grip 8 gets open. The full stroke of upper pressure plate 5 downwards from stop 15 to the stop is combined with its free travel through the loading zone, gripping of strap stack 4 and broaching of holes in straps 1 by the lower edges of fixed cores 2. The back stroke of upper pressure plate 5 upwards is combined with additional broaching of holes in straps 1 by the upper edges of fixed cores 2, removal of strap stack 4 from cores 2 by grips 8, conveying of strap stack 4 through the loading zone and opening of grip 8. Downward and upward broaching of holes is accomplished at a gap between the hole and core 2. EFFECT: enhanced capacity due to simultaneous broaching of the strap stack at upward and downward motion of cores 2. 1 cl, 5 dwg
