FIELD: debugging combustion chambers of gas-turbine engine. SUBSTANCE: method involves organizing combustion zones for rich and lean fuel-air mixtures over perimeter of flame tube or in any of flame tubes of combustion chamber. Total fuel consumption required to ensure desired capacity of gas turbine in its combustion or desired draft of engine is maintained constant. Combustion products are taken off upstream of turbine at the same time measuring their temperature at atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature. Excess oxidizer and Nox concentration over perimeter of flame tube or in any of flame tubes are determined. Then Nox concentration at engine outlet is calculated at pressure and temperature corresponding to ISA conditions or at any other temperature and pressure using formula , where ISA is international standard atmosphere; Tch is temperature within combustion chamber; Pch is pressure within combustion chamber; exp is exponential dependence; x, y, z are semi- empirical coefficients (x = 0.2540/5; y = 115-450; z = 0.8-1.2); α is excess oxidizer measured at sampling point. Method enables finding ways of reducing emission of nitrogen oxides during debugging of gas-turbine engine, verifying compliance with emission standards under all atmospheric conditions during acceptance tests, and dispensing with thermal vacuum chamber tests to verify compliance with emission standards.
