METHOD OF DETERMINING INITIAL AND CURRENT RESERVES OF GAS AND GAS-CONDENSATE DEPOSIT Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: development of gas and gas-condensate deposits. SUBSTANCE: method is realized by covering of region of formation location with outer boundary (filtration region) with network model with pitches dx and dy on axes Ox and Oy. Points of intersection of vertexes of rectangles are network points. Each well is located in compliance with its coordinates. Gas withdrawal values from wells are preset real. Network models present all formation characteristics (roof elevation and initial positions gas-and-water contact, thicknesses, porosity, gas saturation and permeability) in the form of tables of two-dimensional functions with network pitches of dx and dy. Coordinates of wells and values of the parameters in wells serve as initial data for model construction. Initial and current gas reserves are calculated on the basis of two-dimensional network functions by mathematical relationship with the help of extrapolation methods. EFFECT: higher accuracy of determination of gas reserves due to use of formation network models.
