FIELD: shipbuilding; propulsors for surface ships and submarines. SUBSTANCE: proposed propulsor includes water flowing passage having form of flat slot, cylindrical recess in one of walls of water flowing passage, rotor mounted in cylindrical recess and water flowing passage and at least one plate mounted in rotor. Rotor with plate is mounted in such position that it overlaps water flowing passage. Rotor is mounted at minimum technological clearance relative to wall of water flowing passage oppositely to cylindrical recess. Rotor is provided with longitudinal slot. Plate is mounted for displacement in slot of rotor. Swept surface formed by longitudinal edges of plate during rotation of rotor has such geometry that length of its chords passing through axis of rotation of rotor are equal to width of plate. Swept surface is equidistant relative to wall of cylindrical recess and have and has minimum technological clearance relative to it. EFFECT: reduced power requirements at creating motive force. 2 dwg
