FIELD: optical instrument engineering, in particular, variable magnification sights with automatic setting of elevation for small arms and sporting guns. SUBSTANCE: the magnification variation mechanism has two bushings installed on the body for turning behind a cam with a radial rectangular groove. The first bushing has two cylindrical flanges with aligned rectangular grooves in each of them. A pin linked with the turning system is radially located on the cylindrical surface of the bushing. Diametrically arranged between the flanges are two pairs of guide axles carrying slides pressed to one of the flanges for movement and having cross- sectional holes. The other bushing is made with one cylindrical flange and rectangular groove in it, a pin linked with the range scale radially arranged on the cylindrical surface of the bushing. The magnification variation mechanism has also a yoke installed on the flanges of the bushings for longitudinal movement and turning and linked with the cam, turning system and range scale. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of sighting. 2 cl, 11 dwg
