FIELD: aerodynamics and gas dynamics for determination of gas flow rate and density of ionization in it, for example, in monitoring systems of outburst into the vent tube of atomic power plant. SUBSTANCE: flow-type counter is placed in the gas flow. Gas is fed to the measuring channel. Gas flowing through the measuring channel is influenced by an electric field introduced in the measuring channel of the flat capacitor. The strength of ionization current is measured. An additional identical measuring channel is installed near the flow-type measuring channel in the gas flow. Its inlet and outlet are hermetically sealed. The gas inside the additional measuring channel is influenced by an electric field of the flat capacitor introduced in it. Ionization current is measured in the additional channel, and the density of ionization in the gas flow is estimated according to the strength of this current. The flow rate is determined from the expression including the measured values of ionization currents. The device has a measuring channel and an additional measuring channel rigidly connected to it. A system of flat electrodes forming ionization chambers is located inside each channel. The ends of the additional measuring channel are plugged. The electrodes of the ionization chambers are electrically coupled to voltage sources and ionization current recording units. EFFECT: enhanced sensitivity of determination of flow rate. 4 cl, 2 dwg
