FIELD: metallurgy; mechanical engineering; conveyer equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to conveyer equipment and can be used at making of electromagnetic rollers designed for handling ferromagnetic steel sheets. Electromagnetic roller has shaft with pole disks with fitted on cylindrical noise-damping shock absorbers, and field coils arranged in housing, clearances in which are filled up with insulating material. Noise-damping shock absorbers are made as combination of material layers placed in direction coinciding with direction of rotation of electromagnetic roller, and hollows in field coils are filled up with insulating material to form monolith with insulating material filling clearances in housings. EFFECT: improved electromechanical reliability of electromagnetic roller and its repairability. 5 cl, 4 dwg
