FIELD: filters for thorough purification of water. SUBSTANCE: filter has housing with clarifying layer of floating medium, combined clarification sorption layer, system for automatic changeover of mode of operation of filter including siphon for discharge of flushing water, floating reservoir for charging the siphon, float, thread and reservoir 13 with metal ball inside it; metal ball is provided with polymer or gummed coat for automatic introduction of sorption or ion-exchange material into layer of floating medium. Filter is equipped with inclined chutes for smooth distribution of sorption material over surface of floating medium and reservoir for reception of used sorption material. Filtration of water is effected in upward direction and regeneration of floating medium is effected when water moved downward from above-filter space.
