FIELD: medicine, in particular, psychophysiologic examinations and medical equipment, applicable for diagnosis of functional state of human central nervous system in norm, at various pathologic states. SUBSTANCE: method consists in exposure of the patient under test to the effect of photic and sound stimuli with a subsequent analysis of the response of the central nervous system to these stimuli. The novelty in the method is in the fact that the patient is offered to determine the coincidence of frequencies of the photic and sound stimuli in the maximum shortest time and with the maximum accuracy, and if the difference in the coincidence of these frequencies does not exceed 1.5 Hz at a time loss for testing not exceeding 30 s the functional state of the central nervous system is considered to be within the norm. The device for realization of the method has controllable electronic generators of sound and light pulses, power supply, reference frequency unit, counter and digital display unit, electromechanical switching assembly.
