FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: root harvesting machine has frame 1 carrying transport wheels 2, digging out hoes 3, beater 4, transverse conveyor 8, discharge elevator 15 and separator 5. Separator 5 is made in the form of rotary rolls. Blade thrower 7 is positioned in upper part of separator and cylindrical brushes are mounted between inclined walls 9 for rotation in opposite directions. Inverted V-shaped tray is positioned under brushes. Curved tray surfaces 11 are pivotally fixed on pin. Pivot hinges are mounted on pins which are positioned in centers of curved portions so that converging lower parts of surfaces 11 define chute-like hopper for roots under brushes. Upper ends of surfaces 11 are pivotally connected to hydraulic cylinders 14, which are adapted for rotating surfaces 11. During discharge of roots from hopper, roots are brought out of contact with movable root cleaning parts of machine. Such construction provides reliable root cleaning and discharge processes. EFFECT: increased efficiency, enhanced reliability in operation and simplified construction. 2 dwg
