FIELD: instruments for acquisition of information on range to obstacles by means of optical aids. SUBSTANCE: optical range finder has an optical radiating system made in the form a beam scanning unit; the given unit is also coupled to an optical receiving system communicating with a photoelectric transducer coupled to a video amplifier, whose output is connected to the first input of the time measuring unit via a comparator. The synchronizer output via a modulator is connected to the respective input of the laser having a device for optical pumping. The range finder has a signal edge discrimination circuit, differentiator, N-channel analog storage, N delayers, multiplexer, analog- to-digital converter and a computing unit. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy. 4 cl, 3 dwg
