SOIL TILLAGE METHOD Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: hand-held equipment used for soil tillage in farms and household plots. SUBSTANCE: method involves tillage of soil, rotavation and mixing of soil upper layer. Soil ripping and mixing processes are carried out by means of working tool of hand-held cultivator having two plate-shaped disks. Disk blades have ten teeth. One of teeth is made flat. Nine other teeth are made in three configurations of different curvature. Soil ripping, rotavation and mixing processes are performed by portions, with working tool moving forward and backward lengthwise of plot axis, with following movement of cultivator in backward direction to following portion of plot so as to prevent tilled soil from being compacted. Soil is ripped and mixed in lengthwise and crosswise directions of pass of each portion so that working tool teeth tracks form ripped strips. Teeth track spacing in horizontal plane is 0.5-1.5 cm. Formed ripped strips in crosswise and lengthwise directions of pass are arranged in parallel one with the other and/or at an angle one to the other. Such method allows ground plant remains to be effectively embedded into soil. EFFECT: wider operational capabilities and improved quality of tilled soil.
