METHOD FOR GROWING OF GOAT'S BEARD GRASS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture, in particular, feed production. SUBSTANCE: method involves simultaneously sowing goat's beard grass and corn as cover crop in May, second decade; growing sown crops. Nitrogenous fertilizer is applied at the rate of fertilizer usage of 60-90 kg/hectare for presowing treatment of soil. Herbicides are used at the stage of emergence of 2-3 complete leaves of goat's beard grass and 3-5 complete corn leaves. Crops are harvested at high cut level at least in the middle of August. Method allows production of dry substance to be increased by 1.6-18 times as compared to cover crop-free growing method. EFFECT: simplified method and increased yield. 1 tbl, 1 ex
