FIELD: inorganic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: molybdenum disulfide possessing antifriction properties is prepared by heat treatment of molybdenum trisulfide and sodium sulfomolibdate at weight ratio 1:(0.8-1.2) in air medium at 570-635 C. The two starting reactants are obtained from purified molybdenum- containing solutions. EFFECT: reduced molybdenum dioxide admixture. 1 tbl
