FLYING SHEARS FOR SHEARING CONTINUOUSLY CAST INGOTS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2156676 C1

FIELD: metallurgical machine engineering, namely constructions of flying shears for continuously cast ingots, possibly in steel melting shops with machine for continuous billet casting. SUBSTANCE: flying shears include traverse bar 13 whose one end is jointly secured to stationary member 15 of machine for billet continuous casting and whose other end is jointly secured to rod 17 of main hydraulic cylinder 19. The last is rotatably mounted on stationary support 21. Upper part of housing 1 is hinged onto traverse bar 13 and by means of lateral lug 22 through additional hydraulic cylinder 24 is jointly connected with traverse bar 13. Upper cutter 11 and rest 8 with lower cutter 9 are arranged in housing 1. Inside upper part of housing 1 there is gearing in the form of driven gear wheel and driving pinion joined with electric drive unit mounted on housing 1. On body of driven gear wheel upper axle 5 of connecting rod 6 is mounted with eccentricity. Lower axle 7 of connecting rod is kinematically joined with rest 8 of lower cutter. EFFECT: improved design of flying shears providing enhanced manufacturing possibilities of shearing process, lowered metal consumption, elimination of influence of process of shearing continuously cast ingot upon process of continuous casting, enhanced quality of shearing, increased useful life period of shears. 2 dwg
