FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing phenolsulfonate esters of hydrocarboylamino acids by reacting amino acid with acid halide and reacting the resulting aminoacid halide with phenol sulfonate (a) amino acid of formula R-C(=O0-N(H)-(CH2)n-C(=O)OM or R-N(H)-=C(=O)-CH2)nC(=O)OM wherein n is integer of 1 to 8, M is H or alkali metal and R is C1-C14 alkyl, is reacted with acid halide; (b) amino acid halide prepared in stage (a) is reacted with phenol sulfonate in the presence of water and base at pH value from 9 to 12.2. EFFECT: greater efficiency of the process and high quality of the desired products. 7 cl, 4 ex
