FIELD: forestry. SUBSTANCE: method involves bending shrubbery plants and holding them in bent state while spraying with working fluid; upon termination of spraying procedure, releasing shrubbery plants. In the process of releasing shrubbery plants, excessive working fluid flows from upper surface of inclined plants to their lower surface and onto lower stage plants. Apparatus has basic machine with working fluid tank, pump and plant bending device with frame, bending and holding beams, and spraying booms. Holding beam is equipped with springy screen provided with hygroscopic material attached to its lower surface. Hygroscopic material is terminated with linear members extending beyond screen. EFFECT: increased efficiency in treating shrubbery plants with herbicide by uniform distribution of preparation over plant surface. 3 cl, 2 dwg
