FIELD: chemical industry, more particularly nitric acid salts manufacturing enterprises. SUBSTANCE: method comprises reacting nitric acid with solution of soda and/or sodium hydroxide in two stages. In first stage, process is carried out in acid medium with air being constantly scavenged through reactor; this allows for removal of gaseous admixtures from reaction zone maintaining acidity of solution at reactor exit at 30-80 g/l of HNO3, and in second stage, solution is neutralized with water and/or sodium hydroxide to pH value of 8-10. Sodium nitrate solution thus produced is transformed into salt product by well-known method, and circulating mother liquors, after accumulation of admixtures therein, are used for preparing potassium nitrate from potassium chlorides. EFFECT: improved quality of product due to removing gaseous, including chlorine-containing impurities. 2 cl, 1 dwg
