FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: gear box relates to mechanism in which stepped variation of gear ratio is effected by changing over gear transmissions positioned in separate body. Gear box has sectional body with driving and driven shafts installed in it, carriage with toothed rims made for moving along splines of respective shafts and coupled to control levers. Intermediate shaft positioned perpendicularly to driving and driven shafts is capable of displacement along axis of its own. It is provided with control lever and fixing elements. Intermediate shaft carries rigidly-connected unit of toothed rims mounted concentrically in the same plane. EFFECT: reduced overall dimensions, simplified construction. 2 dwg
