SUBSTANCE: electric drive has induction-motor electromechanical converter 1 with stator phase leads 2, 3 and squirrel-cage rotor 4, speed sensor 5, adder 6, first functional resolving converter 7, first through third multipliers 9-11, integrator 12, polarity identifier 13, root extracting device 14, and current amplifiers 15, 16. Inputs of units 13, 14 supplied with desired torque signal function as drive input. Novelty is introduction of second functional converter 8 whose circuit arrangement provides for implementing characteristic constructed according to algorithm given in description of invention; such arrangement ensures optimal rate of slip as function of rotor speed. EFFECT: provision for obtaining desired electromagnetic torque at minimal power loss and maximal efficiency of drive. 3 dwg
