FIELD: technology of production of detergents. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing detergent in macrohard form by microwave irradiation of original stock and smaller part thereof is hydrated and includes at least 35 wt % of substances selected from group consisting of carbonates, bicarbonates, sulfates, bisulfates, silicates, phosphates, hydroxides, borates and nitrates of alkali and alkaliearth metals followed by cooling. Stock is subjected to irradiation in the form of layer of particles located in container having walls to allow penetration of irradiation; in this case microwave irradiation is carried out for period of time sufficient to increase temperature of at least some stock, and subsequent cooling is carried out to prepare product whose volume of weight does not exceed 1.2 times of volume of original particles.
