FIELD: apiculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves mounting current-conductive plates on hive walls and measuring electric capacitance of hive space free of honey; measuring electric capacitance of hive space full of honey; comparing electric capacitance difference value to honey weight value determined by means of weigh; setting up table by results of several measurements; using mentioned table for determining amounts of honey in hive by changing hive volume. Hive is equipped with capacitance converter defined by two flat current-conductive plates isolated one from the other and attached to inner surfaces of hive side walls. Two opposite plates are connected one with the other and with generator output through screened earthen wire, and each of two other plates is connected through separately screened earthen wires to amplifier input and output, respectively. Capacitance converter and amplifier define inverting amplifier whose output is connected to rectifier input. Rectifier output is connected to first input of differentiating amplifier, and second input of differentiating amplifier is connected to output of zeroing device. Output of differentiating amplifier is connected to input of measuring device. Zeroing device buses and amplifier power supply buses are connected to power supply unit outputs. Method and construction allow amount of honey in hive and in apiary to be determined without direct weighing of hives. EFFECT: increased efficiency and provision for obtaining precise date. 3 cl, 3 dwg
