FIELD: polymer production. SUBSTANCE: acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene resin with bimodal distribution of rubber particles contained in polymer matrix composed of aforesaid resin and rubber is prepared in several steps: (i) preparation of rubber solution in monomer mixture containing styrene and acrylonitrile, rubber being of the S-B type where S is polymer block originated from vinylaromatic monomer and B conjugated dimer polymer block; (ii) adding at least one preliminarily prepared acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene resin having average volumetric particle diameter the same as aforesaid rubber contained in polymer matrix (greater than 1.5 mcm); (iii) dissolving preliminarily prepared acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene resin in step (i) solution; (iv) feeding continuous phase of thus prepared solution into resin-polymerization reactor; and (v) polymerization of final solution to give desired product.
