METHOD FOR CHECKING OF PITCH OF TONES PRODUCED BY MOUTHPIECE COPPER WIND- INSTRUMENTS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: applicable in musical training on wind-instruments, in particular, for training, strengthening and development of technique of mouthpiece of trainees. SUBSTANCE: pitch of tones produced by mouthpiece copper wind-instruments is estimated, checked and fixed not only with the aid of musician's ear for music and memory, but also by the value rarefaction, using for the purpose the dependence of vacuum on the pitch of tone. To this end, use is made of a vacuum gauge device consisting of a mouth- piece corresponding to the respective wind-instrument. The vacuum gauge device has a side ejection port, pipe connection, connecting tube with a strain through cock, and a vacuum gauge with a measuring scale. The ejection port has a diameter equal to the diameter of the mouth-piece nose and is arranged at an angle of 25-30 deg to the mouth-piece axis and at a distance equal to 2-3 diameters of the ejection port from the mouth-piece nose.
