FIELD: industrial inorganic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of production of potassium sulfate and potassium chloride in aqueous media. Method involves interaction of ammonium sulfate solution with suspension of potassium chloride followed by isolation of double potassium-ammonium sulfate salt and processing of resulting liquid phase. Double salts are dissolved in heated return solution. The latter is clarified to remove insoluble stuff and cooled to isolate desired product into solid phase. The product is separated from solution and dried, whereas cold solution is chiefly employed in preparation of potassium chloride suspension and/or solution of ammonium sulfate. To the rest of cold solution is added water and return solution obtained is employed to dissolve double salt. According to invention, return solution is mainly heated to 95-105 C, clarified solution is mainly cooled to 25-35 C; for preparation of potassium chloride suspension and/or solution of ammonium sulfate, preferably 70-90% of cold solution obtained after isolation of final product is used. When cold solution is used only in the ammonium sulfate dissolving stage, potassium chloride suspension is prepared with liquid phase from double salt preparation stage. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency. 4 cl, 1 tbl, 2 ex
