FIELD: building materials industry, more particularly manufacture of heat insulation of building components and various units within wide temperature range. SUBSTANCE: method of manufacturing heat-insulating material comprising liquid glass, sodium hydroxide and ground filler comprises individually stirring 1/5-1/3 parts of liquid glass with whole of sodium hydroxide (alkali) in rotor-pulse apparatus for 30-60 s at pulsation frequency of 400-45- Hz, stirring remaining portion of composition and adding ferrosilicon in rotor-pulse apparatus for 2-4 min at the same frequency and subsequently stirring both solution to form complete homogeneity. EFFECT: higher uniformity of pore formation, high physico-mechanical properties regulated by hardening time and wide possibilities of application of the material. 2 tbl
