FIELD: heat exchanger engineering. SUBSTANCE: the heat exchanger has a transversely stream-lined tube bunch with a surface in the form of alternating similar in tube length sections of two different outside diameters, and headers with tube plates. The tubes in the bunch with end sections of the same diameter are positioned in the opposite vertices of the rectangle or in the vertices at the base of the triangle of layout of the tube plates. The sections of the external tubular surface with different diameters are arranged successively in the direction of flow. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of convective heat transfer, reduced mass and specific amount of metal per structure at reduced overall dimensions of the heat exchanger. 3 dwg
