Abstract RU 2173496 C1

FIELD: radio engineering; communication systems and satellite television. SUBSTANCE: semi-focal mirror antenna has main concave mirror which is, essentially, part of surface of revolution, antenna feed unit, and at least one auxiliary mirror in the form of part of curvilinear surface; all these components are installed so that main mirror and feed unit are arranged on one side of auxiliary mirror; shape of auxiliary mirror surface, position of feeds, and direction of their axes are determined as result of optimization to attain maximal utilization of surface area in at least two beam directions of directivity pattern of desired shape. Main mirror has toroidal surface; surface area of at least one auxiliary mirror is found from auxiliary-mirror generating line equation f(z) = Pm(x,0), where x, y, and z are Cartesian coordinates.
