FIELD: inert water-repelling fillers for high-frequency and fiber-optic communication cables. SUBSTANCE: water-repelling filler used for insulating polyethylene covered high-frequency communication cables and fiber-optic communication cables, as well as for sealing multicore power cables has in its composition mineral oil, polyisobutylene, ceresine, and antioxidant; the latter is 4-methy6l-2.6-ditertiary butyl phenol (ionol). Novelty is that newly introduced in known water-repelling compound are diethanol amides of fatty synthetic acids with 10-13 atoms of hydrocarbon C whose mas.% is 0.25-0.35 of said compound; quantitative composition of compound ingredients is also changed as follows, mas.%: ceresine, 0.15-0.25; mineral oil, the balance, up to 100%. Following changes are accordingly introduced in compound production method: 4-methyl-2.6-ditertiary butyl phenol is mixed up with diethanol amide of fatty synthetic acid and then mixture is introduced in mineral oil of definite viscosity heated to 80-90 C followed by charging ceresine and polyisobutylene while stirring them; ceresine is charged in reactor in crushed crystalline state. Compound produced using said method is universal material that possesses high quality irrespective of time taken for its production. In addition, other conditions being equal new method takes shorter time and energy resources for its production. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities. 5 cl, 4 tbl
