FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: according to first version, proposed method consists in conversion of source of sodium sulfate with potassium chloride in aqueous medium at first stage obtaining glaserite in form of sediment and first mother liquor, interaction of glaserite sediment with potassium chloride and water at second stage accompanied by obtaining potassium sulfate in form of sediment and second mother liquor which is returned to first stage; method includes additionally: (a) evaporation of first mother liquor accompanied by obtaining mixture of solid sodium chloride and anhydrous sodium sulfate and third mother liquor; (b) interaction of mixture of solid potassium chloride and anhydrous sodium sulfate with source of sodium sulfate/water accompanied by obtaining pure anhydrous sodium sulfate; (c) return of third mother liquor to first stage. According to second version, method consists in conversion of source of sodium sulfate with potassium chloride in aqueous medium at first stage accompanied by obtaining glaserite in form of sediment and first mother liquor, interaction of glaserite sediment with potassium chloride and water accompanied by obtaining potassium sulfate in form of sediment and second mother liquor which is returned to first stage; method includes additionally: (a) evaporation of first mother liquor accompanied by obtaining mixture of solid sodium chloride and anhydrous sodium sulfate and third mother liquor; (b) interaction of mixture of sodium chloride and anhydrous sodium sulfate and anhydrous sodium sulfate with source of sodium sulfate/water accompanied by obtaining pure anhydrous sodium; (c) return of third liquor to first stage; (d) return of required amount of anhydrous sodium sulfate to first stage as raw material.
