FIELD: hydraulic machines. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydraulic machines with swirl principle of operation converting energy of pressure of working medium flow with addition of special grains into rotation of working wheel and vice versa. Proposed hydraulic machine has housing with inlet and outlet branch pipes and shaft with working wheel. Branch pipes are separated by gate valve. Working wheel is made in form of equal-diameter flat-wall disks secured on shaft. Disks are separated by slot-like flow-through channels and are provided with radial projections and cavities uniformly spaced over circumference. Smaller diameter disks are installed between disks forming slot-like flow- through channels. Gate valve is provided with several projections and cavities arranged so that projections of gate valve get into wheel flow-through channels, and disks of wheel get into cavities of gate valve. Depth of cavities made on disks is smaller than depth of flow-through channels to prevent vibration. When hydraulic machine is used as hydraulic motor, granulated admixtures are added to working medium. EFFECT: increased efficiency of hydraulic machine. 3 cl, 4 dwg
