FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed permanent-magnet self-starting fractional-horsepower single- phase synchronous motor that can be used as single-phase stepping motor has stator carrying ring-shaped coil inside magnetic circuits and rotor in the form of multipole permanent magnet. Rotor is mounted on shaft rotating in plastic bearings. Magnetic circuits have claw-shaped poles bent out perpendicular to their planes. Magnetic circuit mounts shield built of two parts. Both parts of shield are made of copper or copper alloys and function as pole shaders. Magnetic-circuit poles are assembled in two groups spaced 120 to 180 electrical degrees apart and poles are spaced 180 electrical degrees apart. Number of rotor poles corresponds to that of magnetic-circuit poles. EFFECT: reduced noise level. 4 cl, 4 dwg
