SUBSTANCE: counter is designed for counting voltage spikes or dips exceeding various analysis levels for longer time than specified critical values and also for determining total failure time of electrical equipment at transient voltage in power circuits. Counter has ac-to-dc voltage converter, subtraction unit, reference-voltage source, inverter, switch, n comparators, where n is number of analysis levels of voltage spike or dip amplitude modulus, 2n + 1 one-shot multivibrators, n + 1 AND gates, two OR gates, two meters, SR flip-flop, and rectangular-pulse generator.
