FIELD: alphanumeric keyboards, especially keyboards for pocket computers and mobile telephones. SUBSTANCE: the alphanumeric keyboard has a great number of numeric and functional keys. The keyboard is so programmed that at a simultaneous depression or release of each pair of two mutually adjacent keys an alphabetic character will be produced, whereas a numeric character will always be produced at a depression or release of only one numeric key. All the alphanumeric characters are applied onto the keyboard body between the respective pairs of keys.
