FIELD: radio engineering and electric communications; metrology; radio systems using signal phase and frequency modulation. SUBSTANCE: known method is based on Chebyshev type of nonlinear input-signal conversion; input signal is subjected to analog-to-digital conversion, digital code obtained is supplied to digital inputs of series-connected N multiplying digital-to- analog converters; in the process dc reference voltage is applied to analog input of first DAC and voltage picked off analog output of preceding DAC, to analog input of each of N-1 next DACs. Voltages taken off each of analog outputs of DACs and reference voltage of respective polarity changed in magnitude by desired number of times are supplied to respective inputs of analog adder. Adder output signal passed through low-frequency filter is supplied to phase and frequency multiplier output. Device implementing this method has analog-to-digital converter, digital-to-analog converters, level converters, analog adder, low-frequency filter, and reference voltage source.
