FIELD: oil production. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to compositions for blocking or limiting water inflow into production wells and of absorption zones both in terrigenous and carbonate collectors and for equalization of intake profiles in injection wells. Composition to block water-bearing and highly penetrable strata includes hydrocarbon fluid and filling agent. Natural bitumen produced by intrastratum burning and containing up to 10% water is used as hydrocarbon fluid. Xerogel with mass share of 2-8% in composition is employed in the capacity of filling agent. Composition includes xerogel in the form of aerogel or aerosil.
