FIELD: decorative glasses. SUBSTANCE: golden smalt represents plates of two-layered transparent glass containing gold foil between layers. Glass is composed of, wt %: SiO₂ 61-66, B₂O₃ 5-7.5, Na₂O 9-13, K₂O 7.5-9, ZnO 9-11, and Na₃AlF₆ 1.5-2.5. When manufacturing smalt, first-layer glass is cantarel made in the form of plate, whose surface is preliminarily degreased and washed. Thus manufactured two-layer composition of cantarel and golden foil is dried. The second layer glass is special-composition matrix glass, which is heated to melt state and joined with two-layer composition by means of three different techniques to give final form of smalt.
