FIELD: transport engineering; railway vehicle brakes. SUBSTANCE: proposed brake shoe has metal wire frame, friction part consisting of three inserts secured on frame, and arranged lengthwise the shoe and covering entire area of cross- section of shoe wearable layer. One of inserts is hard, furnished with hole for cotter made of cast iron and arranged in central part of shoe. Two other inserts are made of composite friction material and are placed at both edges of hard insert. EFFECT: increased service life of wheels, improved efficiency of braking if water gets into friction zone and enhanced reliability of shoes. 1 dwg
