FIELD: heat and power engineering. SUBSTANCE: in agreement with given method measurement and comparison cells are placed under identical conditions into isothermal shell of calorimeter, working mixture is continuously supplied into measurement cell where process of complete combustion of gas is conducted with release of heat power Qx, combustion products are removed and equal quantities of heat are fed per time unit with working mixture into measurement and comparison cells. Constant heat power Qo is continuously maintained in comparison cell, heat flow between comparison and measurement cells is continuously recorded and heat releases in them are equalized by change of heat flow. Fuel gas-stabilizer is fed in addition into measurement cell and its burning generates additional heat power Qxd. Flow rate of gas-stabilizer is so varied that relation between additional heat power of gas-stabilizer Qxd and heat power Qxd/Qx of tested gas is not more than 1.1.
