FIELD: solid-propellant rocket engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed nozzle unit includes central body and nozzle. Nozzle is mounted in telescopic guide and is rigidly connected with piston which is located in cylinder secured on body; working chambers of cylinder which are divided by piston are connected with engine combustion chamber by means of passages made in throat of movable nozzle with throttle orifices; cylinder chambers are interconnected by means of throttle passage made in piston. Cylinder is provided with spring-loaded relief valve which connects rear working chamber of cylinder with surrounding medium. Front working chamber is connected with surrounding medium through liquid-flow throttling valve of varying throat section whose magnitude depends on axial displacement of piston. Liquid-flow throttling valve of varying section is made in form of slit in cylinder wall and is partially closed by piston. EFFECT: reduced mass and overall dimensions of nozzle unit due to avoidance of mechanical spring securing supersonic nozzle. 2 cl, 1 dwg
