FIELD: glassmaking. SUBSTANCE: glass mixture based on orthophosphoric acid, metal oxides and salts is prepared in three steps. First, phosphate pulp based on orthophosphoric acid and 3-5- group element oxides and/or one of alkali-earth metal salts is first separately prepared and, simultaneously, alkaline suspension based on solution of alkali and alkali-earth metal salts and/or salts of alloying transition metals is also separately prepared. In the second step, phosphate pulp is neutralized by alkali suspension by mixing them and then, finally, neutralized pulp is dried to give glass mixture, which is calcined to complete chemical reactions. Resulting dry glass mixture is then boiled to give homogeneous melt at 800-1250 C.
