FIELD: fertilizers production. SUBSTANCE: initial material (peat) with natural moisture level is screened to particle size no larger than 3 mm, after which it is packaged together with NaOH reagent in packet of nonwoven hygroscopic material, NaOH reagent being placed in a separate packet also made from nonwoven hygroscopic material. Packets with peat and NaOH reagent are tightly sealed. To prepare mother solution, packet with peat and NaOH is placed in container, flooded with water preheated to 60-65 C in proportion of initial material to liquid 1:(20-25). Packet is pressed to make it soaked and container is tightly closed. Five hours later, liquid in container is thoroughly agitated, packet is squeezed and removed from container. Volume of packet for NaOH reagent is chosen twofold greater than volume of reagent. Packet for peat is 3-3.5 times greater than volume of peat. Consumption of NaOH is 100-120 g per 1 kg of initial material. EFFECT: enabled preparation of concentrated and biologically active sodium humate. 1 tbl
