GAS-TURBINE ENGINE SUPPORT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: aviation and industrial plants. SUBSTANCE: gas-turbine engine support includes flexible member with outer race of bearing mounted in it and jet flange and contact seal mounted on shaft. Contact seal includes thrust and graphite rings; thrust ring has holes for pumping oil to cavity of thrust ring which is provided with conical wall. Circular fin of thrust ring has oil-catching slots with baffles; inner surface of baffle is inclined towards rotation of ring; ratio of mounting diameter of thrust ring to width of oil-catching slot ranges from 4 to 7 in circumferential direction. EFFECT: enhanced reliability due to reduced temperature in zone of contact of graphite ring with thrust ring in all modes of operation of gas-turbine engine. 3 dwg
